About Eastford

The area of land that is currently the present day town of Eastford, CT was once a part of the town of Ashford, CT. In the mid 1700’s the town of Ashford was divided into three different districts, each with its own church and school. In the year 1847, the residents that lived in the eastern part of Ashford, established Eastford as a separate town.

The town of Eastford, CT is located next to the towns of Pomfret and Ashford. It is comprised of roughly thirty square miles and has a wonderful, charming, country setting. The town of Eastford provides convenient access to major routes and highways, such as routes 44, 101, and 197 and both interstates 395 and 84.

The town of Eastford, CT offers an elementary school, The Eastford Elementary School, which takes pride in being a positive, exciting learning environment that encourages the children to reach their full potential. When the children reach the high school level most attended Woodstock Academy, located in the neighboring town of Woodstock, Connecticut.
